OVERVIEW   • visual: he is a rather skinny boy with blond hair and a sweet smile. his eyes are a red-magneta shade. we wears a standard school uniform with a baby blue undershirt beneath. if he's not wearing his school uniform, then a casual striped shirt under a white button-up and jeans are his go-to. can come as his original series age at fifteen or (gou + sotsu anime spoilers) twenty. in the DEEN anime, he was portrayed as approx. seventeen. anywhere in-between is also peachy! • voice: satoshi's voice actress is yū kobayashi! the tone she uses for him is a soft-spoken one. he's a frequent mumbler and his signature series catchphrase is "muu". you can hear his normal speaking voice right here. • personality: despite coming off as "perfect" or "princely" at first glance, satoshi himself is actually quiet and largely clumsy. those close to him often describe him as "unreliable" because of his bumbling around. he's the type to read books and daydream or stare into space for prolonged periods of time. quite oblivious to his own charms, too. due to his troubled home life, he matured quickly and is generally a pleasant person to be around. although he can dote on others plenty, it's just as easy to dote on him—he was once described as "the type that made women want to protect him."  perhaps in an emotional response to living in an abusive environment, he will easily worry, get frustrated, or become discouraged. outwardly, satoshi usually appears calm. he's most known for giving out headpats. they say his hand is warm and very comforting. he doesn't limit who he gives them out to, and seems to enjoy doing so. however, if the tables are reversed and he's on the receiving end of one, he'll blush and become flustered. satoshi is fiercely protective of his baby sister, satoko, and will go to great lengths to ensure her happiness and safety. she is his entire world. he's the ideal big brother figure. fun trivia: he's potentially color-blind and genuinely can't tell the difference between broccoli and cauliflower. this makes grocery store trips a nightmare. • background: satoshi and satoko's mother and step-father died in an accident on the night of the their hometown's watanagashi festival. the two of them fell from a viewing platform and into the river—the stepfather's body was recovered, but their mother's was never found. after his parents' death, satoshi's aunt and uncle became their foster parents. both satoshi and satoko were heavily and horribly abused by them, though satoshi often took the blows for his little sister. the stress caused him to become quite sickly, eventually accumulating into headaches, depression, and hallucinations. he is a member of the village's baseball team the hinamizawa fighters. objectively, he's not very good, but he tries.
